Hi everyone,
Just giving you all details of Sundays upcoming game. It is another cup game (we have been entered into the George Holland Memorial Trophy - so we have another shot at some cup glory!!)
It will be a 10.30 a.m k.o I believe, so I will say now the plan will be to meet at the Henderson's at 9 (altho I will keep you posted if this changes).
We are playing a team called: Kings Head (Ashford Middlesex) - have we ever played them before?
Well if people won't be able to play let me know in advance please and training will be as usual on Thursday. If there are the same amount as last week then it will be £3 (if less then £4-£5). Please make sure you bring money with you, cos I will have to pay the whole 10 weeks hire soon (they said we would only have to pay a deposit upfront - but now they want all the money by the 8th Dec) and I don't want to be too much out of pocket.
Thanks everyone, Rob

King's Head are one of the whipping boys in Division 4 and are new to the league. Nice bunch of lads but not all that good either.

If they are really that crap how about a bit of squad rotation? Another start upfront for El Hadj Marlon perhaps? ;-)
Seeing as Peter Crouch has already been given 14 chances to score for Liverpool.

Hi everyone,
I tried to get the game re-arranged for this Sunday, as it was only posted on the league website a few days ago and nobody knew we had a game. As a result alot of you have made plans for Sunday and we could be seriously short of players.
Could everyone reply to this with a yes or no as to whether they can play or not. The Hendersons and Adam I know you definately can't.
Cheers.

Another thing,
I know Kieron is out for quite sometime and I believe Dodman won't be able to play either as he wants to rest a niggling injury.
Does anyone know of any other people that will be unavailable?

I can play... can we persuade Dodman to play this week if we are going to be short, and he can rest it next week?
On another note, Jamie Downes would sign up if we need someone. Also if we are really short, perhaps its worth talking to the league as when i ran badgers I think there was a rule about giving a club 7 days notice on a game. Did they even phone you Rob, or did they just post it, seems a bit harsh, such short notice and not personally calling you to make sure its ok.
I may be able to get more players who would sign up for the odd game... when is the deadline?

I've spoke to the league and apparently 4 weeks notice is needed to re-arrange a game. I said that was tricky considering they only put the fixture on the web less than a week ago!!
I believe the home team has to confirm the game at least 4 days before and as yet have heard nothing. So that may be a possible loop-hole. I will check out the rules tonite and post a message tomorrow about what is going to happen.
If players are not match fit and we will be short I'd rather try and re-arrange the game than struggle with about 9 players. With regards to signing players up, the deadline is Wed before a game.
Jamie Downes - if you want to sign up just let me know mate. You can start coming to training and i can give you the forms and stuff??

Morning all,
Just so everyone knows I don't think there is a way to get out of Sundays match unless we forfeit it. According to the rules the other team were supposed to have confirmed the game by yesterday, but all that means is if they don't (which they haven't) we can complain and they get a £10 fine.
So I really need to know exactly who can play asap. So far: myself, gambo, Tony, Andy, Scott, Marler and Alex(50:50) can play? I reckon if we have 9 or more we should go for it?

Rob go for it... Badgers can't forfeit against lower opposition, it should be avoided for all games. Who needs 11 if neil can play! On a lighter note check out the bottom photo on this link hahahaha... www.theleafe.co.uk/first/profiles2.htm
